2000 Dodge 1500 Quadcab needs driver's door replaced
I've seen ads on Craig's list and Ebay for doors that are supposed to fit '94-2001 so I bought a used door for off of a '97 1500 with a Quadcab. The door is not the same. The '97 door is rounded at the top and bottom of the back of the door frame and the 2000 has closer to a squared corners on the back. The wiring plug-ins for the electric winows, locks, mirror and radio speaker are different also. I checked at a Dodge dealership and they told me that '99 to 2001 had the same part #. Can anyone confirm that the shape and the wiring are the same for those years?
you cant use a 97 door as the quad cab models were different, in '97 the rear extension doors did not open in 98 they began using doors that opened instead of solid walls, a door from 98-00 will fit your truck.
I also have a '98 standard cab and the doors on it are rounded on the rear side of the door frame just like the '97. So is the door on the '98 rounded on the standard cab only and not on the Quad Cab and what about the electrical connectors?
yes only on the '98-01 quad cab are the doors square, as for electrical connectors on the 94-97s its 3 hard wired harnesses for power windows and locks (on the drivers side) on the passenger its two. in 98 they put in a set of plugs on the door and truck side to i guess make life easier.
So are the electrical connectors on the '98-'01 Quad Cab Driver's door all the same? I just want to make sure that the next time I buy a used door, that I get one that is set up exactly the same as the one on it. Thanks! Muleskinner
