Engine stalls.

Asked by BTM137 Mar 23, 2013 at 09:44 PM about the 2005 Buick Rainier

Question type: General

Engine starts fine, starts to sputter after about 5 seconds, then dies.  Ex wife ran it extremely low on oil. Had to add about 2 1/2 quarts.   New engine time , or something in the fuel system ?       Also, is it possible to switch engines from a 4.2  6     to a 5.3  8 ?

Even with the low oil, the engine should be good. It may not last as long. Get the codes read if you can, write them down and publish them here.

Its at the dealer. Hopefully I'll know something Monday. Its like waiting on biopsy results. One thing I'm certain of. She is NOT driving my SUV again. "You never told me to check the oil". @*%!
