6 disk cd changer malfunction

Anyone know why the cd changer in the trunk may be saying "no discs" when in fact it does have discs loaded?

I just purchased the '91 BMW 325i sedan, and it comes with a factory installed 10 cd changer.
However, I have no clue whatsoever how to play the cd's.
I'd check the manual, but I didn't get one from the previous owner.

Help me anyone?
