car tries to star, but wont. what is the problem?

had a remote start on it that used to act up , ..
i think i cut the antenna by accident

Need more information to answer this question.  With modern cars there are more than just a few problems which can cause a no-start situation.  Does this happen all the time?  Only when first starting?  Does the vehicle crank, or not crank, the engine while you are turning the key?
