Exhaust camshaft sensor

I have a 1999 BMW 323I which the BMW service center tells me the code showing is
an exhaust camshaft sensor.  The car is still running good but the engine light is
on.  Is the sensor hard to replace?  Any
technical notes needed for this replacement?

Thanks,
Joe

Need to have a manual to be sure of exactly where it is, but typically these are not difficult to replace.

not to sure about a 323 but if its like other bmw six cylinder cam sensors it is quite a pain in the ass to replace. You will have deal with the vanos timing system. I would buy your self a bentley service manual to tell you more. Strange that they would have more then one cam sensor I don't know about that.
