My 1989 Ford f250 5.8 351 won't stay on when
idle. It's also missing a bit.what could it be?

Mine had that issue. It would not idle at all!! Same year, model, and engine. I cleaned the IAC and I was still having issues. It turned out to be a bad TPS sensor. Idles great now.
