My 78 ford f 250 with dana 60 and t 205 tranfer case

Question type: Car Customization

Ok, i put a dually rear 10 1/4 with 4.10 ratio with a dana 60 front. The problem is it seems like there is some bind [growling] in the transfer case when on the gas in reverse, or off the gas in forward. only happens when tranfer case is in 4wd. The tire are the same size. I switched transfer cases and nothing changed. What could it be? Front pinion bearing? Maybe a smaller front tire would help? I dont want to gun money at it. Any suggestions?  Thanks

are the gear ratios the same in the front as in the rear?? and is the transfer case fully engaging?

yes and yes It turned out that the front shaft was short and the u joints weren't in phase.
