The 350
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I was told that GM had made a 350 Eng 5.7 with a bad crank. How do I find out any info on this ?
I have called dealers to no end.. My mechanic had this Engine in three cars and GM replaced the Crank because they had the bad cranks in them.. I only have 34 thousand miles on my 81 vette and the crank is bad . I would so love some info on this if anyone has it....

Since 1973 i've been building small block chevy engines.First for GM in Flint,Mich, then for myself and customers at the track.Once in a while a bad part does leave the plant, but that is so rare. These parts are always tested, and ckecked to exceed all requirements of the engine. So you might have gotten a nicked up crank on the build, but I doubt that any group of cranks were released to the buying public with any issues.
