Question type: General

Did a 67 Impala come out with a 283 and how can I make sure of the numbers for the engine and tranny?

Take your VIN information and have it decoded by a dealership. They will be able to tell you the factory engine/transmission configuration.

67 did come witha 283 and powerglide. My first car, which was given to me from my dad,who purchased it newin 1967 had this engine/powertrain combination. By the way ,I have an original 327 /powerglide from my 67 impala/ss sitting in my garage if anyone is interested in purchasing.

You don't need to got to a dealer. just look on the front of the engine on the passenger side just below the head you'll see the numbers & engine code (2 0r 3 letters) that will tell you what engine it is and what tranny came with it.
