I am considering buying a 1958 Impala Coupe here in thge UK. I am trying to establish if it's a "matching numbers " car. If I have the VIN number can I somehow find the engine number?

the last 6 digits on the VIN should match the 6 numbers on the front of the engine.the VIN does not tell you what engine is in the car that year.
