Is the Chevy Astro a good investment?
I am looking at 1986 Chevy Astro with 123K on it. It is for sale for a $1000. I will mainly use it to commute back and forth to work (10 miles round trip). Please advise. How is it for gas mileage? I know the owner maintained it well. Thank you
For a well maintanied vehicle, inspected and for $1K that's a fine deal. As long as it doesn't have a ton of rust, and you like it, you should be good for many more years.
mileage depends on how car is eqipped-4 cyl=good gas mileage-however if its 6 cyl with awd-expect low teens
Thank you! I am 6' 2" tall. Would this be a good fit for someone my height? I plan on test driving of course. Also have a mechanic friend checking it out for me as well.
I've owned a 2001 since 2003 and it was trouble free until 2009 when it threw a rod bearing. I figure the original owners must have abused it because I always babied it. I can get 17 MPG in town when I pay attention to how I drive and concentrate on not accelerating too fast. You can check mine out. I just put it up for sale, here. Took it on a 700 mile trip and got 22 on the Road.
