84 toyota celica

I have a 84 toyota celica. The headlights dont open unless i twist the little knob under the hood. Does anyone know what i need to do to fix this. They stay open all the time

Sounds like the vacuum actuators for the headlight doors are shot. You'd need to replace them and verify function to fix the problem.

They don't use a vacuum actuator. There's a relay on the passenger fender inside the engine bay that controls them
