is check engine on sounds like throtle position sensor or map sensor,may want toalso check temp control sensor maby have a scan done autozone will do this for free,

It could be due to the kickdown from high to low idle.  I have had similar things happen with other vehicles.  Have the codes read and see if any stored codes are there that have not tripped the Check Engine light on.
