is it manual?? auto?? what year is it?? does it idle low?? may be timing

it was a vacuum hose came off thats why it was dieing. it is a auto and it is a 1990 and it idle fast.

ya. when i keep my foot on the gas it will stay running. i found the problem it was a vacuum hose came off.

I have a 1998 chevy k 3500 6.5l turbo diesel, friday I put fuel in the truck and it was running fine. Parked it in my driveway and let it sit for all of saturday and part of sunday went to start it and it wouldnt start. I kept cranking it and it finally started ran for 10 secs then died out like it stopped getting fuel. Lift pump is working. What is the most likely cause for this? 6 answers
