What I have a 1992 c/k 2500. Was wondering how I could tell the difference between a true 3/4 ton or heavy half ton?

motor size.


If the rear axle is bolted to the hub assembly. If you unbolt the axle flange you can slide the axle out of the housing by itself. Should have 8 lug nuts on that year. Heavy half will not have an axle flange bolted to the hub but will have a brake drum that slides over the axle flange. Hope this clears it up.
