How to set the timing on a new Chevrolet ck3500 6.5 deisel

I have put a new 6.5 deisel in my truck and dont know why i cant get it to start. I even tried eyther and it still would not start. Can some one tell me how to set the timing.

don't know the diesels real well but do know a ford must spin 500 rpm before the pcm comes to life period! thin oil, good bats,at least 3 glows
