2006 Lift Gate

I cannot open the rear lift gate. It is locked and neither the remote lock nor the lock on the drivers door will activate the lock. There is no key hole in the lift gate.
Anyone else ever have this problem. If so, my e-mail is plally@reausa.com
go to chevy dealer and let them check battery in your remote.
