car burns oil

2 quarts every 500 miles. compression is good and very little leaks from the bottom of the car. adding engine honey to slow it down.

It can be for a couple of reasons. One is you are over the recommended miles for the oil. Also it depends where you drive the corolla and by that I mean highway or city because they are known to burn oil on highway because the 2001 model doesn't have enough gears in the transmission to keep low rpms. Also it can be valve stems or Piston rings.
