Asked by monga Jul 28, 2007 at 08:51 PM about the 1991 Pontiac Bonneville

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

where are the speed sensor and speedometer cable located at on a 91 bonneville

1 Answer

Hi monga, The speed sensor is an internal gear in the transmission (usually plastic) that rotates as the transmission picks up speed. The odometer cable is simple the cable used to connect the speed sensor to the odometer. These can sometimes be a single unit. The speed sensor should be coming out of the transmission at or near the top and connect to the firewall somewhere near the dash. Good luck!
