If you set the climate control on hot and are sure there are no other settings that may changed.... Make all the blend doors on the vehicle are working correctly. Also the rear of the vehicle has an auxiliary heater core which is separate from the main heater core on the vehicle. Need to make sure that heater core is not clogged and is working properly as well.

Check for a shut off/ diverter valve at the heater hoses under the hood. If you suspect a bad heater core for the rear heat check that the hoses that feed it are both warm, if one is warm and one cold you could have a plugged core

There are rear heat controls on the ceiling right behind the drivers head. See if those are on cold before you do anything. The switch on the dash that you are referring to is it in the lower left corner of the dash? Below the front heater controls and next to the rear wiper controls.
