Are you low on transmission fluid? If you checked it with a dipstick that's where you fill it up. Leave the dipstick out. You will need a very skinny tipped funnel. Put it in the dipstick tube and fill it to the correct level. Do not over fill. If it is low that means you have a leak somewhere. Get that checked out before you burn up the transmission.

You will need a 6 inch extension, a 12 mm 3/8 socket and a flex head ratchet to loosen the bolt that holds the dipstick down, and possibly a flathead screwdriver to break the seal loose if its been a while since its been checked, ive dealt with a few with a dry o-ring on the dip stick that can be a pain in the dink to pop loose. It helps having smaller fingers to get the screw started again as well.
