1999 Galant idles ok, jerks and bucks while driving under power

When the car is idling stopped, it idles fairly decent.  When the car is out on the road, it jerks and bucks and threatens to die out.  Driving slow, the problem is still present, but to a lesser degree.

sounds like an O2 sensor but could be something else ,,, you get any CELs ? (check engine lights)
