Power Seat
I have a 99 TC and the drivers seat will not go forward/backwards, all other funtions are fine, what gives??? I can hear the motor running but it just wont move..
Take it apart. You may find a broken gear on the motor; if you hear it running, then that's about all that could be wrong.
As said, if you hear the motors turning there is likely a gear problem. If you're met with silence when pushing the buttons then you may have either a 'stuck' motor, burned out motor, or the switch has gone belly up. Any of these should be easily fixed with replacement parts from a part store or junk yard. Not a lot of dis-assembly.
if this is the case, wha'ts next , can you reset or repair gear if a few teeth are broken,can you buy the gear, or do you have to replace that motor ? thanks
