Can't open hood...truck battery needs charging so
can't drive it anywhere

Sherri, try to access where the cable runs to the hood latch in the front. if you cant see it through the grill, try going up from under the truck in the front. I had this happen on a car once and was able to put a small hook on the end of a stiff wire and pull down and release the latch.
