restoring 3 serries for my son as his first car
Ever since I owned a couple of e46 M3's my son has been a huge Bimmer fan. He saw an old 1980's something 3 series and said he liked it a lot. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what would be involved in finding one that needs minimal love to make it a good highschool driver. I don't want to break the bank but I want him to have a nice car and pride of ownership. I dont mind spending some money on paint, engine and trans. Even reapolstering the interior. Any suggestions? And is there a good web site I can look for these cars for sale?
Right here is a pretty good place to start. Click on "used cars" at the top of this page, fill out the boxes they ask, and there you go. They have many many listings right here,,you can set it to say 100 miles away search, unlimited distance, many options to trim or expand your search
I also use www.cars.com and www.autotrader.com, www.ebaymotors.com but David is right , most of those ads will also show up on this site as well. Once you find some nice vehicles, you can pinpoint a specific dealer in your area that you can go visit and talk to. As far as enthusist sites, check out www.bimmerforums.com for E30 information and they even have a classified section. Good Luck!
