does odo mean overdrive is on or off and where is the button to turn it on or off?

I would think that ODO is referring to the ODOmeter.  Simply "OD" normally refers to OverDrive.

OD/O means overdrive is on. if your overdrive is off there will be nothing displayed.

I have the 2007 Model of the Santa Fe. I don't believe there is a button to turn off/on the overdrive. I believe that's the odometer because on the dashboard where it shows the millage, it says "ODO" next to it. So, I bet that's what you are talking about.
