my 2005 santa fe use to get aroun 400 miles with a tank of gas .now it is getting 280
miles

If you have over 100,000 miles on your Santa Fe you're due for a tune up. Check your air filter as well. If you have an automatic transmission it could be that an issue has developed and the transmission isn't shifting properly. That'll kill your gas mileage. HTH. -Jim
