Sudden increase in oil consumption in a 58 plate 2.2CDT-i Honda FR-V

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a Honda FRV 2.2 cdti 58 plate with 82,000 miles on the clock which has suddenly started
burning oil - from fully serviced to dashboard warning light in 2.5 months, its never needed more than
a quarter in between services before. The oil used at service was 5W 30 fully synthetic, The Castrol
website recommends 0W 30 fully synthetic but  it is also emitting  a noticeable cloud of blue smoke
at start up which quickly disappears. Is it burning the oil because it isn't exactly the right oil or am I
looking at a valve seals or piston rings problem?
