We have a chattering noise at the front of the engine

We have done the tappets & new bearings in the dynamo...& removed the water pump
which does run smooth ....SO could it be the timming chain  hope you can help thanks

Possible timing chain rattle,check idler sprocket,and for looseness in chain.

Beauty - old trick is to put a long handled screw driver to your ear and the other a different places under the hood until you pin-point the source.

I'd really be interested in following your project, it will be a whole lot more interesting than 75% of the posts that ask questions about their radio or their stupid battery in their key or about stuff that's in the Owner's Manual that they either don't read or can't be bothered to get.
