after starting engine when accelerating the engine sputters and backfires, after pumping accelerator several times car takes off real fast then runs ok until I stop then goes through same thing again.

run it out of gas then put in fresh gas and some injector cleaner if that does not help you might need new injectors or possible a fuel pump also when did you last change the fuel filter
