the gt is stock, and the roush is stage 1, with a new 44s muffler, BBK inake and new headers. Which would be a better buy?

the stage 1 v6 was mostly an appearance package (the exhaust on it actually hurt performance), only 470 were produced for 2000. If youre interested in an investment get the roush (collectible). If you want performance, get the GT.

I'd have to agree with Jeff, but I would add that Roush vehicles do not keep their value as well as a Shelby and are quicker to depreciate. The Roush you describe is a base vehicle and not highly collectable or desirable.... Personally, I would buy the GT. I had a 99 GT and I liked it a lot.. Just for the record, I currently drive an 07 427R Roush...

I just found out ROUSH made V6s..... Go for the '00 GT 'cause it is more stylish when upgraded, It has the V8 so better performance and if I'm right, it's cheaper too. Otherwise go for the ROUSH buy a new FORD 5.0L engine+6 speed and put that in.....

the roush has the upgraded suspension for better handling and more power

I have had 12 mustangs, all V8's. From drag cars to street rod GT's. You are always going to have more upgrade options on a V8. On a V6, you need chassis work and suspension mods, etc. It's more efficient and realistic to go with the V8. you can always add the blower, intake, throttle body, O/R pipes, tuner, injectors, etc. At least the chassis can handle it as it sits.
