Are these cars hard to drive?

I have a lowered 99 Trans Am Vert.  It's noisy as heck and I have to be careful on bad roads obviously.  I know how to drive, but I keep hearing that these cars are really bad daily drivers.  I live in Alabama...  Is that true, or do they all get the bad rap from the earlier models.  I'm looking to buy a 2003 or newer.  I'd appreciate any input.  I'll be using it as a daily driver and a drag racing vehicle only.  I don't need to corner at 80mph.  Thanks.
