just bought a '79 jeep, a little new to the jeep seen. this is a 304 motor w/headers, Q. is in '79 did the jeep come with a catalytic converters?

no,cat converters came out in the early 80,s when leaded gas was changed to unleaded.they put the unleaded gas only on the instrument cluster when the cat was installed.
