Question type: Car Customization

hello, i have a 1983 cj7 with a gm motor. its a inline 6 cyl 4.2L with a automatic transmission. im looking to turn it into a 4 speed transmission but am having trouble finding what type of transmission i should get. ive looked a little on the web and nothing really makes sense to me nor can i find a whole lot of things that tell me what i should get. a friend suggested that a camarro transmission with be great with the engine but again not sure what works together. if anyone knows what can work with my engine and work with the 4 wheel drive please let me know the name of the transmission i should get and any websites that i can find that exact trans. also if you have any suggestions and tips on anything dealing with this please help me out. its much appreciated. thanks
