what are some good "bolt on" parts for performance upgrades for a begginer?

I dont want to end up having to change engine or any other part if if cant handle the
upgrades. its a 94 civic ex coupe

Easiest "bolt on" performance would be a cold air intake and upgrade the exhaust behind the catalytic converter to a larger diameter and a less restrictive muffler. Let that engine breath a little better and you'll gain a few horses.
