differences between the 4.0 used by ford

I owned a 02 Ranger 4x4 with a 4.0 ,did they offer OHV and OHC versions of that motor?  just curious

Yes they did, the ohv versions had around 160 hp, the ohc versions had around 210 hp. I have the ohv version in a 1997, your 2002 should have the ohc version.

Thanks for the info,I no longer own the truck, My son and I wre talkin about it. I did have the OHC version .Im currently looking for another 1.
