Why is my key stuck in the ignition

Mine the key was stuck, gas gauge diden't work nor the temp gauge among other things. Changed the ignition lock cylinder and nothing. Bought an ECM from ebay for 300 dollars because the dealer wanted about 1000. Put it in today in about 10 minetes. Did the 10 min. 3 time key program sequence and all is fixed, even the key works like it should.
