just bought a 1974 f100 4x4 and im trying to find out if it is a 390 or 360. heard that the 4x4 only came with a 360. also heard a 2 barrel carb is a 360

The only way to tell for sure is to measure the stroke. If you got to fordification.com and look around, somewhere they will have the measurements you are looking for.
