Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm having trouble with my 67 Volvo 122s. Recently, I stopped driving the car for about 3 weeks. When I tried to start the engine, it wouldn't start. I charged the batterey, changed spark plugs. Only the engine would  turn but not start.( Oh, it did run for a couple of minutes and then shut down).. I didn't see a fire when I remove one of the wire from the spark plug when I was trying to start the engine. Someone told me that I might have water in the gas tank. I was told to check to see is gas is getting to the Carbs. I added water remover. What can I do get it running again?
