My 64 midget is slow to start when it does it runs fine for about 3 minutes then starts to idle roung sometimes it backfires any bod have a solution

Those SU carbs were troublesome when new- now they are 50 years old- if the problem is electrical, the same could be said for your distributor- find a good British Classic Car Mechanic
