Was the 99 Barina made in Europe?

It was definitely a European-designed car (the Opel Corsa, also sold as the Vauxhall Corsa). According to wikipedia they were made in Spain, and I'm pretty sure that later models were made in Belgium.

Thanx for that! I am looking for a Barina for my step daughter and don 't trust the Asian built models (sorry to seem prejudiced, but their safety ratings are lower than the European built ones. Ta
