PLEASE HELP, 1970 FORD TORINO GT 350 C

It is a O 1970 torino it came for the A Atlanta dont know about 29 but H 351 2V and it the 194505 car too come off the assembly line!

The 70 fairlane 500 and the 70 torino gt were almost the same body style,it was a bit shorter.I own a 71 TORINO COBRA,429 scj 4 speed shaker hood.is now a show car.had it for 37 years.

Not sure if you got the info but something is not adding up here. The picture is of a 1970 GT fastback or Sportsroof and the VIN as you identified, body type 29 is the Fairlane 500 Hardtop. They are different body styles. Is it possible the car was re-VIN'd?

this pic is eather a 70 or 71 torino gt,it is possable the vin or dash has been replaced,what is the vin num on driver door,is a sticker,it may have been removed when car was painted,that is not a factory paint job.take a pic of dash showing the speeddometor and gudages,will be able to tell you if it has been changed.

the numbers you have posted is not the vin you have 11 numbers a vin has 17 digits,numbers letters,from some research on the numbers you have,the car was wrecked 2 cars made into 1 car dash is out of one or the other and vin was changed ,this is not a vin for a gt torino,it is a partial vin for a 69 fairlane,how did you get it titled,and you should not try to sell it.

Not yrue I have1971 ford Ranchero GT H cod it has 11 numbers, My 1971 ford Ranchero GT M cod aiso has 11 number,Both 351C

I have been in this business for 35 years and never seen a 11 digite vin.I also have a 71 torino cobra,it has17 digits in the vin.

I have 11 digets in my vin for a 70 torino

think i have it figured out, the car came from n carolina and there was a title with the original vin, in 1970 ny state didnt issue titles just transferable reg's, numbers on the inside of fenders, motor, trans, and title all match, the registration and dash have matching vin's, so leads me to believe that the vin was swapped. both vins were ran through the local police departments and are not stolen, thankfully, so im going to have the vin replaced, received a marti report on the vin that is on title and got the info on it. so all is good, jut need to locate the bucket seats, grille, and center counsel (sp), as for the door sticker, the morons painted over it, not a big deal, car was striped this winter and just had the whole car soda blasted, car is very very solid 3 little minor bad spots and thats it, its currently at the body shop getting ready for paint.

Hate to be the stick in the mud but ALL Ford VINS in 1970 and most years earlier than that at least back till 1960 have 11 numbers. Papa, you mentioned you have been in the business for 35 years which adds up as VINS were standardized in 1980 to 17 numbers. Guess you are not dealing with many pre-1980 cars. I know this is an old post but I want to clarify something here about VIN numbers since there are so many questions about the 11 digit VIN and 17 digit VIN. The VIN is an 11 or 17 character number (depending on the year it was made)made-up of both alpha and numeric characters. No two VIN's are the same. A Vehicle Identification Number, commonly abbreviated to VIN, is a unique serial number used by the automotive industry to identify individual motor vehicles, towed vehicles, motorcycles and mopeds as defined in ISO 3833. VINs were first used in 1954.[1] From 1954 to 1981, there was no accepted standard for these numbers, so different manufacturers used different formats.In 1981, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the United States standardized the format.[1] It required all over-the-road-vehicles sold to contain a 17-character VIN, which does not include the letters I (i), O (o), or Q (q) (to avoid confusion with numerals 1 and 0).. as they were running out of number because there were so many cars and trucks being built. Any car or truck built before that year had an 11 digit VIN. All vehicles built after that year had 17 digits. So it is IMPOSSIBLE to have any Ford Torino with a 17 digit VIN because the last Torino was built in 1976. MrBlueOval.

I'll have to admit I was thrown at first, but you will be comforted to know that the Pre-1980-s VIN#'s did have 11 digits, but there were an additional 6 categories of vehicle descriptions....I know this is an old thread, but I was working through the same prob with a recenly purchased '71 Torino Chassis.....thanks for the info.

It all depends on codes k or q are the top dollar leading with 351and or 429
