Hard upshift into second gear
Two symptoms:
1. Hard upshifting from 2nd to 3rd gear.
2. When cold it won't shift into 3rd gear. The motor revs up and does not engage into 3rd gear.
3. Only after egine is warm will it shift into 3rd gear
Are you talking about the fuel accumulator? If so how would that affect hard shifting into 3rd gear? Just asking questions...
Try a transmission fluid change and don't forget to replace the strainer/filter. MB recommend every 36,000 miles
Paul, This hard upshift and/or failure to upshift into 3rd gear with engine reving up only happens ocassionally which is curious. Thanks for getting back to me with your recommendation to change the fluid and filter. Just checked my records and it is due. Thanks again.
