i have a 71 el camino when i turn my blinker on they work but when i hit my brakes they stop blinking what to you think

mine does that with my emergency flashers. It is because the brake lights and the turn signal lights are the same. It may also be a loose ground.

I have either a 70 or 71 model El Camino and when I turn on my blinkers my headlights flash for a little bit and they go back to normal and my blinkers also don't blink

    Ok so my blinkers aren’t working for either the back or front. The hazard work and blink just fine... parking lights work as well but no blinking for turn signal. Fuses are good, no wire shorts......
