Overview of 2012 Toyota Tundra Limited Double Cab 5.7L By Michael Perkins
There’s only one option you don’t get with the 2012 Toyota Tundra Limited Double Cab 5.7L trim, and that’s 4WD. Don’t expect efficiency here just because you’re working only with the rear wheels, as the 5.7-liter V8 can still suck at the pump, despite being fitted to a 6-speed automatic. But even with RWD, the Tundra will still display manners on the road thanks to a limited-slip differential and traction and stability control. If you attach something to the rear hitch, you’ll even get trailer-sway control to keep things in check. With heated leather bucket seats with 10- and 4-way power for driver and passenger, comfort shouldn’t be an issue, but dual-zone automatic climate controls are on-hand and standard. The JBL sound system has a 6-CD changer, as well as USB and Bluetooth, and auxiliary controls come on the tilt and telescoping steering wheel. The power package includes remote-keyless entry, power door locks, power windows and heated power mirrors with integrated signals, and a wiper deicer pairs with fog lights to make sure the view is always clear. 18-inch wheels house 4-wheel antilock discs, and front and rear obstacle detection systems cover everything you can’t see, but if things go really bad, you can always rely on 8 standard airbags to keep you safe.
This overview covers the Limited Double Cab 5.7L trim only.
