Overview of 2012 Toyota Sienna Limited 7-Passenger By Eric Tallberg
As the flagship trim of Toyota’s Sienna fleet, the 2012 Sienna Limited 7-Passenger takes this 7-passenger, front-wheel-drive (FWD) minivan into the realm of affordable luxury. Starting with 18-inch alloy wheels, front and rear power sunroofs, a power rear liftgate, roof rack and a rear spoiler outside, this top-shelf mini sports leather upholstery, front power-adjustable and heated captain’s chairs, a power-folding third-row seat, second-row removable lounge seats with folding footrests, and full power accessories, including heated reverse-tilt outside mirrors. Cruise control and telescoping tilt-wheel steering also come standard, as does a universal remote garage door opener, along with a rear-view camera. All of this is enveloped by simulated wood grain cabin accents and a leather and simulated wood steering wheel.
Standard techno-goodies aboard, meanwhile, include memory for driver's settings, as well as Bluetooth hands-free technology and a 605-watt, 10-speaker JBL premium sound system boasting a 4-CD changer, satellite radio and a USB port.
Options-wise, Toyota’s suave top-shelf minivan can be delivered with a navigation suite featuring Toyota’s Entune smartphone apps, rear-seat DVD entertainment and remote engine start. Finally, BLU Logic audio-interfaced hands-free communications, towing equipment, lower body molding, various cargo management tools and carpeted floor mats are also available to the flagship trim, either in package form or as standalones.
The standard powertrain in the 2012 Sienna Limited 7-Passenger is a 3.5-liter V6 engine mated with a 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission. This matchup puts out 266 hp and 245 lb-ft of torque, with towing maxed out at 3,500 pounds, when properly equipped. Meantime, look for mileage in the vicinity of 18 mpg city/25 highway.
Of course the 2012 Sienna Limited 7-Passenger boasts Toyota’s Star Safety System starring 4-wheel antilock brakes as well as traction and stability control. Then there are standard front side-mounted airbags, three-row head airbags, front head-restraint whiplash protection and a driver’s side knee airbag protecting occupants on the inside. Front fog/driving lights, daytime running lights, turn-signal-integrated mirrors and a remote antitheft alarm are all standard, while dynamic cruise control, pre-collision brake preparation, blind-spot alerts and high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights with automatic hi-lo beams can be delivered as options.
This overview covers the Limited 7-Passenger trim only.
