2012 Toyota Camry SE Trim Overview

The sporty Toyota Camry SE receives a full redesign inside and out for 2012, as well as a number of features that distinguish it from the other trims in the Camry lineup. Outside, a sport mesh grille, integrated front and rear underbody spoilers, sport side rocker panels, a color-keyed rear spoiler and a chrome-tipped exhaust pipe are unique to the SE. Other exterior highlights include projector-beam halogen headlights with black sport trim bezels and integrated foglights. Owners can add an optional power tilt/slide moonroof.

Inside, the Camry SE features a spacious cabin with soft-touch surfaces, pleasant textures and faux hand-stitching on the dash. The front seats are trimmed in SofTex sport fabric, and the leather-trimmed tilt/telescopic sport steering wheel includes integrated paddle shifters, Bluetooth and voice-command controls. Silver interior trim and silver interior door handles add to the sporty ambience. A 6.1-inch touchscreen, located on the center stack, gives drivers access to a 6-speaker audio system, vehicle information, a phone book and music streaming. Power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, air conditioning with an air filter and a 60/40-split rear seat also come standard on the SE.

A 2.5-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine developing 178 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque drives the Camry SE. The engine links to a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. An "S" driving mode retunes the transmission with faster shift times for a sportier driving experience. Standard safety features include enhanced stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist and Smart Stop Technology, all part of the Toyota Star Safety System. In addition, the SE comes equipped with 10 standard airbags, including rear seat-mounted airbags and knee airbags for the driver and front passenger. The Camry SE rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.
