2012 Toyota Camry LE Trim Overview

A step up from the base L trim, the 2012 Toyota Camry LE sedan displays a complete redesign inside and out, with new exterior styling, a revamped suspension and an updated interior. Soft-touch surfaces, pleasant textures and faux hand-stitching are among the highlights in the cabin, which now feels more spacious, despite the fact that the Camry's overall length has not changed. The LE now comes standard with a 6.1-inch touchscreen, which gives drivers access to a 6-speaker audio system, vehicle information, a phone book and music streaming. Other upgrades over the L trim level include remote keyless entry, a tilt/telescopic 4-spoke steering wheel with audio controls and power door locks. The redesigned center console features a sliding cover, armrest and storage, while the fabric-trimmed seats include seatback pockets. Air conditioning with air filter, a 60/40-split rear seat, power windows and mirrors, and an overhead console with dome lights and storage for sunglasses also come standard. In addition, the Camry LE now comes equipped with 10 standard airbags, including rear seat-mounted airbags and knee airbags for the driver and front passenger.

The LE's projector-beam halogen headlamps include auto on/off, while folding color-keyed power side mirrors and 16-inch wheels are among the exterior features. Enhanced stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist and Smart Stop Technology, all part of Toyota's Star Safety System, are included as standard equipment. Power comes from a 2.5-liter DOHC 4-cylinder that delivers 178 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque. It links to a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
