2012 Toyota Camry L Trim Overview

The 2012 Toyota Camry L sedan receives a full redesign for 2012, which includes new exterior styling, an upgraded suspension and chassis, and a redesigned interior. The plasticky look of earlier years has given way to a more organic, people-oriented feel. A new dash and redesigned seats are among the interior improvements for 2012. Soft-touch surfaces throughout are mated with pleasant textures and faux hand-stitching to create an upscale feel. The redesigned center console features a sliding cover, armrest, and storage, while a six-speaker AM/FM audio system with CD, a USB port, auto-sound leveling and a BLU Logic Hands-Free System keeps passengers entertained. Other amenities include air conditioning with an air filter, fabric-trimmed seats with seatback pockets, a 60/40-split rear seat, power windows and mirrors, and an overhead console with dome lights and storage for sunglasses.

Outside, projector-beam halogen headlamps and folding color-keyed side mirrors are among the L's standard features. Power comes from a 2.5-liter, DOHC 4-cylinder pumping out 178 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque. It links to a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Electric power steering and power-assisted brakes come standard, as does Toyota's Star Safety System, which includes enhanced stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist and Smart Stop Technology.
