2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE Trim Overview

The 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE receives a new 2.5-liter powerplant, which includes a small high-torque electric motor. Combined, the system produces 200 hp and manages very good mileage ratings of 43 mpg city/39 highway. Regenerative braking is also new for 2012, helping to improve the Hybrid's efficiency. Thanks to a new EV Drive, drivers can now operate the Camry Hybrid LE on the electric motor alone for up to 1.6 miles at speeds below 25 mph, further conserving fuel. In addition, the nickel-metal-hybrid battery, which is located below the trunk, is more compact, resulting in an additional 2.1 cubic feet of cargo space when compared to the previous generation. Standard exterior features include projector-beam halogen headlamps, folding color-keyed side mirrors and 16-inch steel wheels. Enhanced stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist and Smart Stop Technology, all part of Toyota's Star Safety System, are also included.

Inside, the Hybrid LE now comes standard with dual-zone automatic climate control with air filter, fabric-trimmed seats, a 6-speaker audio system and 10 airbags, including rear seat-mounted airbags and knee airbags for the driver and front passenger. Optitron instrumentation includes readouts for the hybrid system power meter, as well as fuel economy gauges, a multi-informaton display and an Eco driving indicator. Metallic-tech-grain interior trim and chrome interior door handles give the Hybrid LE a sporty feel. Other standard features include a Smart Key System, cruise control, power door locks and windows, and a fold-down rear seat with center armrest, cupholder and pass-through.
